Last week I started back to work. The class seems like it will be a good one. I have a brand new teacher teaming with me this year and she seems very sweet.
H and N go back to school on Tuesday. H is so excited to start 3rd grade and see her friends again. N is not so excited about starting Kindergarten. Why you might ask? "I don't want to have homework!!!" Poor kid. He has a long road ahead of him. Don will also return to work on Tuesday.
Unfortunately, H and N will be starting at separate schools. H's intra-district transfer is good for the whole time she is in elementary school so she will continue at her present school. N has been registered for Kindergarten since February and will have to wait the mandatory 2 week waiting period that our school district requires. Kindergarten at H's school is very full and there is a waiting list. My hope is that they come to their senses and open a 4th Kindergarten class VERY soon so that I don't have to continue this charade too long and I can start to be happy about Kindergarten instead of depressed about the poor quality of education at our home school. I've gone all the way to the superintendent. Now I just have to wait.
We are enjoying our three day weekend and taking it easy. That and grocery shopping, laundry, etc.
